Holistic medicine is not about short term cover-ups or fixes. It’s about individualised, person-centred treatment and lifestyle choices, and working in conjunction with other members of your health care team, to help you maximise your wellbeing.
Herbal and Naturopathic Medicine provide the tools to do this, educating and empowering you to take control of your health and pursue an integrative, holistic approach to your wellbeing.

Clinical Focus
Ian’s clinical focus is helping patients with heart disease, diabetes, nervous system disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions. The focus is on you and how your health issues impact upon your life, and not just on the pathology itself.
It’s important to note that quality health care often involves combined care, with different health care professionals bringing their individual expertise to the table to help you achieve the results you desire. This form of care has proven time and again to offer improved outcomes and patient wellbeing in the long term.
Services Offered
- Follow up telehealth consultations (for ongoing care for existing patients).
- Short telehealth consultations (for acute or simple problems only requiring a quick check-in with your naturopath).
- Case Conferences (for other clinicians needing to collaborate on the ongoing and multidisciplinary care of a patient).
Please Note: In order to continue providing optimal service to existing patients, for the time being I am unable to take on any new patients. My apologies for the inconvenience, and I estimate I will be able to revisit this in mid 2024 with a view to again accepting new patients.
Why Telehealth?
Telehealth became a necessity during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, but continues to offer significant benefits.
It improves accessibility, enabling patients around Australia and around the world to obtain professional naturopathic health care. It also reduces costs to the patient, and increases convenience.
How are Medicines Dispensed after a Telehealth Appointment?
After your appointment, in most cases a prescription will be set up with one or more dispensing services, such as Vital.ly and Natural Chemist. Once this has been set up you will receive an email notification from these services with the details, and then you can log in and order what you need. This is then sent by mail or courier straight to your door.
In some cases your prescription may even include some over-the-counter products which are available in pharmacies and health food stores.
Clinic Hours
Fridays: 8am – 6pm Brisbane time
These hours are in Australian Eastern Standard Time (Brisbane, Australia). Please adjust for your time zone.
Please note that consultations are generally not available outside the days outlined above due to Ian’s work in herbal education and research at Torrens University, and various other roles within the profession.
Consultation Pricing
Initial Consultation (Telehealth) | AU$240 |
Follow-Up Consultation (Telehealth) | AU$90 |
Short Consultation (Telehealth) | AU$55 |
Health Funds & Rebates
Unfortunately due to government-mandated changes which came into effect on 1 April 2019, health fund rebates are no longer available to patients seeking herbal or naturopathic care. Please contact your health fund provider if you require more information.
What can I Expect from a Consultation?
During a consultation Ian will take a detailed health history, look at copies of any pathology reports or other investigations you have available, and take a history of all medications (prescribed, self-prescribed, and supplements) you are taking.
This information is used to develop an individualised health assessment, which will be discussed with you so that you can understand the nature of your health issues.
From there a treatment plan will be formed, which may include dietary and lifestyle advice, and herbal and nutritional prescriptions. In some cases referral for other investigations or specific forms of health care may be required.
Appointment Cancellation Policy
Due to the difficulty in filling at short notice, appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may attract a cancellation fee of $75.
